Why has this obsession with &#8220;looking good&#8221; become a social marker, sometimes to the detriment of our health?   <\/p>\n<p><em>Ultra Violet<\/em> is an intimate journey that examines tanning as a &#8220;total social fact&#8221; &#8211; through the history, sociology, mythology and beliefs that surround our relationship with sunlight. Margaux Cassan tackles the dreams and illusions of a generation fascinated by the sun, right down to its most insidious risks. At this meeting, we&#8217;ll discuss how tanning has become a sign of social distinction, the tensions between the desire to look good and health, and what this says about our times. Margaux Cassan will talk about her writing, her questions, and her way of deconstructing a phenomenon so intimately linked to our lives. <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs x1xmvt09 x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x6prxxf xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u\" dir=\"auto\">Margaux Cassan is a philosopher and writer. In 2021, she published a critical bibliography of Paul Ricoeur, <g id=\"gid_0\">Le courage du compromis<\/g>. In 2023, she published <g id=\"gid_1\">Vivre Nu<\/g>, a fascinating reflection on nudity and our relationship with the body.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The caf\u00e9-philo will take place in the yurt on the Bains pier.
