In the summer of 2026, the Musée de Carouge and the Bains des Pâquis will be staging a double event focusing on the Arve and the artist Éric Alibert’s sensitive view of it.

At the Musée de Carouge, the exhibition Les écritures de la rivière invites visitors to a poetic immersion into the world of this Franco-Swiss artist. Through works in Indian ink and watercolor, Éric Alibert explores the discreet richness of the banks of the Arve, carefully observing the fauna, rhythms and forms of living things. His work, which straddles the border between figurative and abstract art, offers a veritable “writing” of nature, where each stroke expresses an intimate relationship between humans and their environment.

As an echo, the Bains des Pâquis are hosting the exhibition Writings of the river. Carouge and the Arve from June 5 to August 11, 2026. Through a series of thematic panels, this presentation offers a historical and documentary reading of the river: its uses, its trades, its developments, and the richness of its flora and fauna. Pieces from the collections of the Musée de Carouge punctuate this open-air tour.

Two complementary exhibitions, combining art and history, to rediscover the Arve as a living landscape and a source of inspiration.
